Houston-area power outages growing after Hurricane Beryl made landfall

HOUSTON — Strong storms knocked out power to customers in the Houston area.
If storms are in the forecast, make sure your phone and other devices are charged in advance. Portable chargers are also available for a wide range of prices and can be a big help during an extended outage.
If you’re using a generator, be sure you don’t use it indoors because it can cause carbon monoxide poisoning.
